Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services announced that registration for youth spring soccer and tackle football will open Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 9 a.m. Youth summer sports including t-ball, baseball and softball will open Feb. 24.
This year, a new, easier and more convenient registration system has been introduced that will allow for families to register and pay for activities, view schedules, receive updated information and opt in for smart-phone access. Other programs open for registration via the new portal include pavilion rentals, Therapeutic Recreation Program activities, and multiple health and wellness programs.
In 2025, hundreds of local kids will continue to benefit from the opportunity to play organized youth sports free of charge at park sites across Colorado Springs thanks to a program created by Olympic City USA. The $86 fee to play spring soccer will be waived for the first 180 kids to register in the pre-K-2nd grade age divisions. Additionally, 150 free spots will be available in select age divisions for summer t-ball, a $74 value, and an additional 180 kids for fall soccer. Jerseys are included as part of the free registration.
For adults ages 18-plus who are looking to get involved in the community, there are many opportunities to serve as a volunteer coach for these teams. The Sports Office provides equipment and training for all volunteer coaches and coaching experience is not required.
