In late September 2023, Ulysses Parker was extradited back to Colorado and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on an elevated $100,000 bond. Parker was able to post bond and was released from jail within days of returning to Colorado.
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 8:37 AM, CSPD officers were dispatched to the Pikes Peak National Bank located at 4709 N. Academy Blvd to investigate a robbery. The suspect demanded money from the teller and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
The CSPD Robbery Unit responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives determined the suspect was Ulysses Parker and obtained a $250,000 warrant for his arrest, charging him with one count of robbery.
CSPD Detectives learned on Monday, October 23, 2023, that Parker had been involved in a carjacking and police chase in Pratt County, Kansas. The incident escalated into an Officer Involved Shooting where Parker was injured. Parker survived the incident and was later booked into jail by the Pratt County Sheriff’s Office. No deputies were injured during the incident.
Original Release: Colorado Springs Bank Robber Arrested in California
On Friday, August 25, 2023, at 9:50 AM, officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) were dispatched to the US Bank located at 2308 E. Pikes Peak Avenue to investigate a robbery. The suspect demanded money from a teller and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Later on, Friday, August 25, 2023, at 1:45 PM, CSPD officers were dispatched to the Key Bank located at 3605 Hartsel Drive to investigate a robbery. The suspect demanded money from the teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
The CSPD Robbery Unit responded to both banks and took over the investigation. It was determined that the same suspect robbed both banks. There were no reported injuries during the robberies.
On Monday, August 28, 2023, the Robbery Unit identified the suspect as 29-year-old Colorado Springs resident Ulysses Parker II and obtained a warrant for his arrest, charging him with two counts of aggravated robbery.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, Parker was taken into custody in San Bernardino County California.
