Each season, a limited number of youth sport registrations are FREE for families across Colorado Springs through our Sports Office. These spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are no income or other eligibility requirements for players in the selected age groups to receive a free spot. The program is open to everyone. However, if your family does not need a free registration, we invite you to select the paid option and/or donate to the Helping Hands Fund. The goal of this program is to remove the financial barrier to participation so all kids can benefit from playing youth sports.

In 2024, hundreds of local kids will continue to benefit from the opportunity to play organized youth sports free of charge at park sites across Colorado Springs thanks to a program created by Olympic City USA. The fee to play spring soccer will be waived for the first 400 kids to register in the PreK-4th grade age divisions. Additionally, 300 free spots will be available in select age divisions for t-ball, 200 spots for baseball and softball and 400 spots for fall soccer. Free spots are available at practice locations citywide. The most free spots will be available in the youngest age divisions, PreK-2nd grade, and at locations in the southeast and central regions. Jerseys are included as part of the free registration.

This program is possible because of generous grants and donations from the Daniels Fund, Dakota Foundation, Boeing, the Chapman Foundations, Colorado Springs Utilities, Comcast, Gazette Charities Foundation and the Schuck Foundation. This initiative was started as an activation of the city’s brand, Olympic City USA.
