Plan ahead and prepare. No matter what you are doing at Sinton Pond Open Space, it is always a good idea to bring certain items. Sun protection is a must for long afternoons of walking or fishing. Make sure to bring your fishing license if you plan on casting a line.
Travel on durable surfaces. Stay on designated trails to minimize soil erosion and preserve Sinton Pond Open Space’s natural features. Muddy trails? Hike right through them to prevent trail widening. Please respect all undesignated trail closures.
Dispose of waste properly. Please pack out all trash items, including fishing line and bagged dog waste. This will help keep Sinton Pond Open Space an oasis of nature in a heavily developed area.
Leave what you find. From wildflowers to interesting insects, Sinton Pond Open Space is full of fascinating features! Remember to take pictures of these fun finds and leave them where they are for other park users to discover.
Be careful with fire. Even wetland areas are vulnerable to wildfire. Fires, grilling, and smoking are prohibited at Sinton Pond Open Space. Help protect this animal habitat from fire.
Respect wildlife. Sinton Pond provides essential habitat for a variety of animals. Please observe all wildlife from safe distances and never feed them; the waterfowl will become sick from eating human food. Always keep your pet on a leash for everyone’s safety.
Be considerate of others. Enhance the experience of other Sinton Pond Open Space visitors by sharing the trail. Cyclists should always ride in control and alert others if approaching from behind. Hikers should respect the space of fishermen as well.
