The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) welcomed daily nonstop service from Southwest Airlines to Long Beach (LGB) today. With this new service, the Colorado Springs community will have easy access to the Los Angeles Basin and allow visitors from California to experience all Colorado Springs has to offer.

“Southwest Airlines has been tremendously supportive of the Colorado Springs community both as one of our key carriers and as a community partner since they began service,” said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for COS. “We’re looking forward to both our partnership and service at COS growing.”

Southwest also recently announced it will offer nonstop service to Houston – Hobby (HOU) starting November 21 on select dates through January 2, 2024, then is extending service to weekly service on Sundays starting January 14, 2024. In addition to HOU, Southwest will serve San Antonio (SAT) and San Diego (SAN) for select November, December, and January dates as it has in years past.

Currently, Southwest Airlines serves a total of 9 nonstop destinations: Chicago (MDW), Dallas (DAL), Denver (DEN), Houston (HOU), Las Vegas (LAS), Long Beach (LGB), and Phoenix (PHX), with seasonal service to San Antonio (SAT) and San Diego (SAN), along with easy connections across the U.S. and international destinations.

With the addition of Long Beach (LGB), Southwest will offer up to 16 daily departures from Colorado Springs in July.

Colorado Springs Airport’s small size means small commutes, small lines, and small waits. It means friendliness, safety, and comfort. It also means big options on daily nonstop flights and hundreds of connections worldwide. Colorado’s small airport was named one of the Best Workplaces for 2021 and 2022 by the Gazette.
