The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) reported elevated traffic numbers for the month of July, making this the second consecutive month for increased traffic. A total of 230,084 passengers traveled through the airport, with 115,045 enplaning at COS. These figures represent a 13.4 and 13.1 percent increase respectively.

As a result of 132,868 seats in the market (6.2 percent more than the same time last year), COS logged an impressive 86.6 load factor for the month of July. Load factors year-to-date are currently 3.6 percent higher than 2022.

In June and July, COS welcomed new carriers and routes for travelers. The new nonstop service includes Atlanta (ATL) (Delta), Los Angeles/Hollywood-Burbank (BUR) (Avelo), Minneapolis-St.Paul (MSP) (Delta and Sun Country), with new service to Long Beach (LGB) (Southwest) having launched in July.

Later this year, Southwest Airlines will begin seasonal service to Houston (HOU), San Antonio (SAT), and San Diego (SAN) for select November, December, and January dates. Service to Houston (HOU) will continue with weekend service effective January.

Currently, COS is modifying the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint queuing area to accommodate the growth in traffic and enhance the passenger experience. Travelers are reminded to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight is scheduled depart. The project is anticipated to conclude this fall.

The modernization of the concourse will begin this fall and will continue in phases through 2026.
