Colorado Springs, CO – As air travel steadily returns, the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is seeing increases in enplanements, as well as available seats in the market. In the month of June 2021, 99,478 passengers were enplaned representing a 26.3 percent increase from June of 2019 with 200,516 total passengers traveling through the terminal – a 27.5 percent increase from the same period in 2019.
Available seats also increased significantly, up 39.7 percent to 127,818 seats. For the month, COS saw an average 77.8 percent load factor, down 8.3 percent from June of 2019, and achieved an 81.3 percent overall load factor when including Southwest’s thru traffic.
Enplanements, passengers, and seats in the market continue strong performance this summer and are expected to produce similar results in July. With the increase in traffic, travelers are reminded to arrive 90 minutes prior to their flight departing and that the Federal mask mandate is still in effect. Masks are required inside all areas of the airport and on all aircraft.
