The Community Development Division provides funding to local 501(c)(3) and 509(a) non-profit agencies for the provision of public services to low and moderate-income persons in the community.  These activities are governed by the federal regulations for the Community Development Block Grant.

The City anticipates receiving approximately $2,600,000 from the Program Year (PY) 2017 CDBG Program.  Of the total grant award, approximately $275,000 will be made available for projects within the City of Colorado Springs through this application process.

The City is specifically seeking to fund programs that meet the goals of the Initiative to End Homelessness in Colorado Springs and expand services in targeted low-moderate income areas.

All applications will be reviewed by City staff to determine eligibility, completeness, and to assess risk. After each application is reviewed by City staff, the application will be reviewed and ranked by a review panel. Applications will be rated using a numerical scoring process (see link below)  that considers the project's overall benefit to the community, agency experience and cost reasonableness.
